University of Roehampton Goes Live with MyProgress ePortfolio to support student nurses.
The University of Roehampton is the first of the Pan London universities to go live with the MyProgress ePortfolio. Designed to fully support the new NMC Standards, Roehampton’s Year Two student nurses will be the first to start their placement armed with the brand new ePortfolio to support their practice learning experiences and assessment of progress in practice.
Since the new Nursing & Midwifery Council Standards were introduced in 2018, Nursing schools across the UK have used this as a catalyst to transform practice learning experiences for student nurses and move away from a paper-based Practice Assessment Document to a new digital platform.
The award-winning electronic assessment platform, MyProgress is an ePortfolio and fully digitised Practice Assessment Document, with full support for the new Practice Assessor, Practice Supervisor and Academic Assessor roles. Moving to a digital way of working has countless benefits for student nurses across the UK. The once paper-based document is now available to access on desktop, laptop or mobile devices, it can no longer be lost or damaged, all assessment information is secure and can be accessed by relevant staff supporting that student whether they be in practice with the student, university-based or home-based. Given the current pandemic we are experiencing, enabling student nurses to have full remote support from university and practice staff whilst they are on placement is invaluable to their development and learning experience.
As the first university to go live with MyProgress, the University of Roehampton will be followed by many others including King’s College London, City, University of London, University of Southampton, University of Edinburgh, Queen’s University Belfast and more.
