MyKnowledgeMap Completes IRAP Assessment: A Milestone in EdTech Security

Updated: Apr 16

We’re excited to announce that MyKnowledgeMap has successfully completed the Information Security Registered Assessors Program (IRAP) assessment, ‘Protected’ status. This accomplishment enables us to collaborate with Australian Government agencies, further expanding our impact on global education.

Raising the Bar in EdTech Security

As digital transformation accelerates within the education sector, robust security measures have become more critical than ever. At MyKnowledgeMap, we’ve gone beyond traditional requirements to complete an IRAP assessment, a comprehensive and rigorous process that takes between 6 to 12 months to complete. This achievement places us among an elite group of companies, setting a new benchmark in educational technology security.

What is IRAP, and Why Does It Matter?

IRAP is an Australian Government initiative designed to assess the security of organisations and their products against stringent criteria. By successfully completing the assessment, we’ve demonstrated our commitment to safeguarding sensitive data against ever-evolving cyber threats.

MyProgress, our flagship ePortfolio solution handles a vast amount of personal and educational data so completing the IRAP assessment is more than a regulatory milestone, it’s a testament to our dedication to data security and privacy.

Beyond Compliance: Leading the Way in Security Innovation

Completing an IRAP assessment isn’t just about meeting regulatory requirements, it’s about redefining security standards in EdTech. At MyKnowledgeMap, we view this as an opportunity to lead by example, demonstrating how proactive measures can enhance trust and improve data protection in education.

Our IRAP assessment goes hand in hand with our broader mission: empowering educators and learners through secure, innovative solutions that transform education.

"Successfully completing the IRAP assessment is a testament to our unwavering commitment to security, compliance, and innovation. The IRAP assessment process was a very rigorous assessment, going into every area of our product and processes, but while challenging to meet the required standards, it creates an easy to understand overview of MyKnowledgeMap's technical prowess and we're pleased we've been able to complete it. This milestone underscores the strength of our team and our dedication to delivering trusted solutions for our customers."
