The Department of Medical Imaging and Radiation Sciences, Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Johannesburg (UJ), South Africa, has been using the MyProgress eportfolio to support all four disciplines of medical imaging. MyKnowledgeMap is thrilled to announce that UJ is streamlining their processes across all disciplines by using MyProgress.
MyProgress has been the eportfolio and assessment tool for Diagnostic Radiography, Diagnostic Ultrasound, and Nuclear Medicine since 2016, and thanks to its success, MyProgress will now support Radiation Therapy in 2024.
All the disciplines will be using the latest version of MyProgress which features a mobile app that has offline functionality for assessments and capturing feedback. This means that even in challenging environments where internet connectivity isn’t available students and staff can access the app. In addition, there is a web version. MyProgress has a user-friendly interface and offers distinct dashboards tailored to the students, assessors, and academics. Its appearance and functionality can be adapted according to the user's role.
Students are empowered to take control of their learning with visibility of what assessment forms need to be completed, dashboards to monitor their progress, and the ability to receive instant feedback and communication directly to their phone.
Assessors can give in the moment feedback quickly when students are with a patient, thanks to speech-to-text functionality and a configurable sign-off process. Assessors can view student progress, as shown in the image above.
Academics benefit from real-time performance and progress analytics for individual students or an entire cohort so they can stay abreast of their learning journey, as shown in the image above. The reporting and analytics are customisable, and combined with direct communication with the student, facilitates early intervention when needed.
“MyProgress is an efficient, user-friendly tool to complete assessments and monitor student progress. Being able to access it offline allows for students to keep track of feedback at any given time and in any environment.” Lisa Vermeulen, Lecturer (Clinical Facilitator), Department of Medical Imaging and Radiation Sciences.
MyKnowledgeMap’s MyProgress eportfolio and assessment solution is now used by approximately 50% of UK Nursing students, and an increasing number in Australia, Singapore, USA and Europe. It is also the supplier to the UK General Medical Council for their PLAB examinations including the OSCE.
The MyProgress solution has won various international awards and in 2020 was shortlisted by the Times Higher Education Supplement for “Digital Innovation of the Year”.
